About
Planr Ledger is the business management system underneath Planr, the operational backbone that handles the day-to-day running of a company beyond just its orders. Where Planr Flow focuses on order flow, Ledger is about the wider picture: the people, the resources, and the structure that keep everything moving.
The idea
As teams started using Planr, a pattern showed up: managing orders was only half the job. They also needed a calm place to handle the business around those orders. Stitching that together from separate tools recreated exactly the scattered mess Planr set out to fix. Ledger is the answer: one consistent system where the operational side of the company lives alongside the work itself.
Building it
Ledger runs on the same foundation as the rest of Planr (Next.js, TypeScript, and a carefully designed data model on Postgres with Prisma), so everything stays in sync instead of drifting apart. The focus was on structure that scales: sensible defaults for small teams, with room to grow into something more complex without a rebuild. As always, a lot of the work went into the quiet parts that make a system feel trustworthy rather than fragile.
What’s next
Planr Ledger is actively being shaped. The guiding principle matches the rest of the product: take the operational side of running a business, often stressful and spread across too many places, and make it feel clear, connected, and under control.
